Hello Spring

I bow to the Goddess who resides in all beings in the form of: {wisdom, light, abundance etc}
To the Great Mother of all Beings, the Shining One,
I bow in recognition with love and devotion again and again
— Yaa Devi Sarva Bhuteshu Goddess Prayer

This is a wonderful time of year, in the northern hemisphere we are excited to see SPRING, the waking up from what seems like a long winter. The sun rises early to wake us up naturally, the trees have blossoms that will become fruit, flowers, leaves, love.

We feel like getting things done, spring cleaning! We feel like smiling to strangers in the street, the smell in the air changes, the energy shifts. Perhaps you feel like planting seeds, growing a plant or an idea all starts with a seed. Also setting intentions and reconnecting with yourself, friends or family who you haven't seen during the winter.

Chaitra Navratri is a beautiful Hindu festival celebrating the goddess - mother nature
Hindus worship Maa Durga and all her feminine aspects of divine femininity over nine days and nine nights. Chaitra Navratri marks the first day of Luni-Solar calendar of the Hindus.

Many of you in my classes have heard me talk about or sharing a quote from the amazing book Awakening Shakti - The Transformative Power of the Goddesses of Yoga by Sally Kempton. I have learnt so much about the goddesses and the history whilst reading and listening to these beautiful meditations. It is also an audio book which I highly recommend. This can be a very calming way to meditate or just unwind.

Additionally, If you would like to join a wider yoga community during this time of Navarati with guided meditations led by my teacher Shiva Rea with more detail please have a look at the following: http://www.yogaalchemy.com/courses/navaratri-spring-2016
